| This tutorial deals with tiles, which are a more complex application of a pattern. In mathematics this is called a tesselation. We will do two different kinds of tiles. First, we will tile a canvas with grass and clover, and in the second example, we will examine a hexagonal tiling. Start with the Four-leaf Clover Patch. Here, we will take an image and make it into a seamless tiling, that is, so that we can't tell where the pieces join togetner. In this way, you can make an endlessly repeating tiling for a background for artwork, for a website background, etc. |
